Last night we crowned our third LINGO festival slam poetry champion and the winner was Jason Ashford. It was an extraordinary competition with an incredible pedigree of performers, which saw a final composed of Jason Ashford, Niall Donnelly, Clara Rose Thornton, Brian McMahon Gallagher, Elizabeth McGeown and Kevin P. Gilday. After a hard fought final round, it was Jason who took the title by the slenderest of margins. He is now the proud winner of the 2000 year old bog oak trophy (scuplted by spoken word artist Fergus Costello) and a cash prize of 250 EURO. Congratulations to all the performers, our extraordinary scorekeeper/organisers Aidan and Edel, and our incredible MC Little John Nee. On to day two, see you out there!
